About

Training for a day
is its own discipline

General fitness drifts. A date in the diary changes every decision, from what you train to when you ease off.

  • In person
  • Online
  • Remote programme

How it works

Four steps, start to finish

From the first conversation to the regular reviews, nothing is left to chance.

  1. Step 1: Listening first

What you want, what you have tried before, what put you off, and what you can realistically fit in.

  2. Step 2: A plan you understand

Each session has a purpose, and you know what it is. Nothing is in the plan without a reason.

  3. Step 3: Correction in the moment

Position, breathing, tempo, range: details get fixed as they happen, not weeks later.

  4. Step 4: Adjustment over time

Tired week, busy period, a niggle: the plan bends rather than breaks, and you keep moving forward.

The philosophy

Prepared, not exhausted

Arriving tired is the most common way to waste months of work.

  • Honesty about the starting point

No judgement about your level, and no pretending the road is shorter than it is.

  • Consistency over heroics

A session you can repeat next week is worth more than one that leaves you unable to move.

  • You in charge

You learn why things work, so you can keep training well when you are on your own.

What you can expect

  • A clear starting point, with no judgement about your current level.
  • Sessions planned around the week you actually have.
  • Recovery written into the plan rather than left to chance.
  • Adjustments based on your feedback, not on a fixed script.

What you will not find

  • Sessions designed to leave you broken for the sake of it.
  • Sweat treated as the only proof a session worked.
  • Promises of overnight transformation.
  • Medical advice: for anything health related, your GP remains the right person to ask.

The last stretch before the day should take away fatigue, not add it.

Values

What preparation rests on

Four things that do not change from one person to the next.

  • Specificity

Train what the day will ask of you.

  • Timing

The right work at the right distance from the date.

  • Realism

An honest answer about what is possible in the time available.

  • Rehearsal

Nothing untried on the day itself.

Ways to train

Several formats, the same care

The format changes. The attention you get does not.

  • In person

One-to-one sessions in a gym, at home where there is space, or outdoors.

  • Online

Live one-to-one sessions by video, guided from start to finish, with whatever equipment you have.

  • Remote programme

A written programme you follow in your own time, reviewed regularly against how it is going.

Not sure which suits you? Say what your week looks like and we will work it out together.

Next step

Shall we talk it through?

A first conversation costs you nothing but a little time, and it makes the direction clear.
